I started deigning websites in 2007 and it quickly became apparent to me that design and code were closer than i originally thought. Having to be reliant on someone else to turn my designs into a usable website wasn't something that i was a fan of. This led me teaching myself HTML and CSS and i have become extremely proficient in both.

In 2014 i started working for a company that hired me for my design skills but understood that i wanted to widen my coding knowledge.

From 2015 to early 2016 I worked as a Javascript full stack developer using the M.E.A.N Stack (Mongo, Express, Angular and Node). This was challenging but it has given me a great understanding of both the front-end and back-end of a single page application.

In early 2016 we started a new version of our app using Ruby on Rails. Using an oppinionated framework, as apposed to Javascript, has helped me to understand the MVC structure better and i hope to develop this further on my own projects over the coming years. 

I am proficient using tools and applications such as Git, Terminal, Heroku, Bower, NPM, Homebrew, Atom/Sublime, PostgreSQL and more.
